ENDOVENOUS LASER ABLATION (EVLA)
What is involved in this procedure?
EVLA is a procedure that can be used to treat select deeper and larger veins that would have traditionally been removed by surgical stripping. Local anaesthetic is used so that discomfort is minimal. After making a small incision, a fine laser fibre is passed along the abnormal vein and the vein is heat sealed to prevent the accumulation of blood.
